@brandstofollow is a great list of Australian businesses using Twitter.
The list is wide and varied- baby fashion online stores, sporting teams to well known Sydney bars.
One of the brands I follow on Twitter is Melbourne entrepreneur Adore Beauty @adorebeauty. Kate Morris started her business online from her house and with a flourishing website has also launched a bricks and mortar store. I’ve followed Kate’s story since she ran the basic website to now- a flourishing site filled with user interaction. Customers can write reviews, and join in a very active forum of which the Adore Beauty team are participants. The forum has become so popular that user meetups have happened and have included special forum only visits to Adore Beauty’s head quarters.

Already successfully interacting with her customer base online, Kate joined Twitter. Posting regular products updates of the new and hottest brands on Twitter, she’s found her voice. Kate’s relationship already built with her customers online has given her an authority in the beauty industry, but it’s also one that has a sense of trust.
Kate rarely links to the Adore Beauty site (except of course in her profile) but she does show the makeup on her skin, photos of new ranges coming out, industry news, and general beauty tips.
When Kate receives a new product she reviews it reports her findings in her tweets. Makeup queries? Kate is continually interacting, talking with followers the latest beauty releases and advising on new products to try.
Instead of using Twitter as “What am I doing today?”, Kate has continued to nurture her online relationships and utilised Twitter in a way that best helps her customers, while helping Adore Beauty.
